A farmer, and a carpenter. Buried in National Cemetery.

14964.   m. 5-31-1857, Francis A. Hurd, b. 9-19-1836 in Claremont, New Hampshire;

d. 6-15-1917 in Auburn, California.

The family lived at times in Byron, Minnesota, Bon Homme and

Yankton, S. Dakota. They came from Dodge County, Minnesota in

1859 and he was a 1st. Lieut. in Co. C. and stationed in the Territory

of Dakota during the Civil and Indian Wars of 1861-1866. They

returned to Yankton in 1866-7 and built a small hotel on Cedar

Street, and later moved to Onawa, Monona County, Iowa about

1879.

He was a newspaper pressman in Fergus Falls, Minn. for 25 years
and in 1910 they moved to Wapato, Washington and bought a fruit orchard.
