This is the text of an obituary which contains a Boyd and M.C. Irish connection which I thought may connect with your ancestry. It is listed in The Glens Falls Morning Star, Thursday October 26, 1899: Maybe you already have this info. I am unrelated I might add.

Mrs Martha Booth Boyd died at the home of M.C. Irish in Caldwell the 23d inst., aged eighty-four years. Deceased has resided in the town for the past sixty-five years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs M. C. Irish, of Caldwell, and Mrs. William H. Mosher, of Glens Falls, one son, Robert Boyd, of Glens Falls, and one brother Edmund Booth of Anamosa, Iowa. The funeral will be attended from the home today.
