7768. IRISH, Peter5, (Jesse4, Jonathan3, John2, John1)
b. 5-26-1743 in Dutchess County, New York; d. in 1810 or 1813. He came
to Danby, Vermont in the spring of 1767 with his family, and
erected a log cabin on the now, Nelson Colvin farm. On
March 14, 1769, he was appointed the Collector of Danby,
Vermont. In 1793, he moved his family to Adolphustown,
Ontario, Canada. In his Will dated May 25, 1810, Peter states:
“That he is of the Township of Haldimand in the County of
Northumberland in the District of Newcastle and the Province
of Upper Canada”.

Part of this data was copied from information sent us about 1944 by a James W. Irish of Mil-
waukee, Wisconsin, who had a deceased cousin, who had worked on this family tree. His
wife, then living, stated: "She knew nothing about it, but only had his notes. So I only
know what is here. Sorry, I don’t have any more information about Peter Irish”. Recent-
tly, the original outline of this family of Peter Irish (which was evidently compiled by
Ralph O. Irish, Sr. of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin) was sent to me on April 1, 1962 by Miss
Fanny D. Irish. W. 177; S. 6975, Route #2, Muskego, Wisconsin for my inspection. From
this outline, I added some of the names and dates not on the first data we received in 1944.
